Job Check Process

Employers need to advertise the job vacancy for at least 14 days on a national recruitment website to attract the any New Zealand worker available to work. 

If no local worker is available, then a job check application is submitted with Immigration New Zealand along with evidence of job listing. 

Immigration New Zealand will assess if the genuine attempt has made by the employer to hire a New Zealand worker, and if satisfied that no one is available, will approve the application and issue the Job Token/s. 

Employers need to bear the cost of the process and it cannot be transferred to any migrant employee.
