Visitor Visa

A visitor visa fulfils your needs of tourism, a short-term visit to friends/family or a short-term visit for any specific purpose like attending or participating an event or function. In New Zealand, the maximum duration of a general visitor visa is 9 months.

A Visitor Visa (General) is granted for all normal applicants who have tourism or simple family visit to New Zealand. However, there are many Special Purpose visitor visas which meets specific requirements of the applicant.

Culturally Arranged Marriage Visitor Visa

This visa is granted to would be partner of a resident/permanent resident/citizen of New Zealand. This visa is granted for 3 months duration so that the couple can conduct the marriage in their cultural norms. The role of third party in establishment of relationship and a personal meeting of the couple is a mandatory requirement. At least one personal meeting of the couple is also a mandatory requirement. Immigration New Zealand assess the application based on the quality evidence provided in support of the application.

 

Curious Tourist

Parent/Grandparent Visitor Visa

This visa is granted to the parents and grandparents of a resident/Permanent resident/citizen of New Zealand. This visa is a multiple entry visa, granted for the total duration of 3 years. The visa holder can stay up to 6 months on each visit with total stay of maximum 18 months in the total visa duration of 3 years.
